Welcome to Loftus Volunteer Bushfire Brigade. Loftus, located in the Sutherland Shire, in Sydney's South, is a suburb bordering the northern entrance to The Royal National Park.
As well as the primary function to suppress bushfires, the brigade regularly attend a wide variety of other incidents.
These include responses to Caltex Oil Refinery, Kurnell, Motor Vehicle accidents and providing assistance to other services. As well as providing crews to larger emergencies such as, catastrophic bush fires or natural disasters across NSW and Interstate.
There are approximately 40 active members that train regularly to operate our two Category One Bushfire Appliances (Loftus 1 Alpha and Loftus 1 Bravo) and one Personnel Carrier (Loftus PC).

Once you have made the decision to join, there are several steps to becoming a member of the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS).
