About Us
Welcome to Loftus Volunteer Bushfire Brigade.
Loftus, located in The Sutherland Shire in Sydney's south is a suburb bordering the northern entrance to The Royal National Park.
As well as the primary function to suppress bushfires, the brigade regularly attends a wide variety of other incidents. These include responses to automatic fire alarms, motor vehicle incidents and providing assistance to other services. Loftus Volunteer Bushfire Brigade also provides crew intrastate and interstate to support effort at large scale emergencies such as widescale bushfires and other natural disasters.
Loftus currently supports approximately 50 active members that train weekly to support incident operations utilising our two firefighting vehicles and our personnel carrier. (Category 1 firefighting vehicles - Loftus 1 Alpha, Loftus 1 Bravo, Personnel carrier - Loftus PC).

Who we are

We have a large and diversified membership. We have roles to suit every members preference from devote, to casual.

Our station regularly provides early childhood education to schools and preschools with our area. The annual Santa Run draws a great crowd.

All our firefighters are well trained and new skill acquisition and skills maintenance are drivers within our station.

Our membership has an unparalleled level of skill, experience, gender and role diversification. There is a role for everyone.

Our station prides itself on its technological advancements. All our day to day operations are leveraged through the use of appropriate and emerging technologies. Many of the systems we use are developed by our members.

Firefighters from Loftus have travelled extensively within New South Wales and intrastate. Some members have been privileged to travel internationally. South Australia, Tasmania, Queensland, Victoria, Western Australia and Canada.
